PURPOSE: To automatically add the character strings existing around the list form data as an item name or a legend name when the list form data are turned into a graph and also to confirm a completed image before the graph is obtained when the row or column direction is designated as an item axis based on the two-dimensional list form data. CONSTITUTION: The document data are shown on the screen of a display 18 together with the list form data. When a range of the list form data is designated by a keyboard 14 or a pen input device 16, a CPU 11 retrieves a character string put on an extended line of the designated data race and displays this character string as an item name or a legend name. Meanwhile the type of a graph is designated together with the direction of the item axis of the list form data when the graph is produced. Thus the CPU 11 displays the sample data on both the graph data and a list and also displays with emphasis the corresponding position of each sample data in response to the designated direction of the item axis of the list form data. |
