Call signal recognition appts. for modem activation

The modem (35) is contained in an appts. for personal communication, linked via a mobile telephone (59) and a direct connection to a public dialling network, and is activated for giving up a message. A detector (62), coupled to the mobile telephone, recognises an incoming telephone call. An oscillator circuit (64) generates a call signal to activate the modem for answering the incoming call. A gate circuit receives the detector and oscillator signals to generate a call signal for the modem connection, is appropriately coupled and the calls are duly processed.
