PURPOSE:To obtain a photoconduction type liquid crystal light valve (LCLV) having the high resolution to permit selection of the light wavelengths to be shut off by consisting light shielding film of plural thin films respectively contg. light absorbent materials in such a manner that these light absorbent materials have light absorption spectrum distributions varying from each other. CONSTITUTION:This LCLV 1 consist of multilayered black insulating films 117 composed of plural, for example, three thin films 17a to 17c respectively contg. the light absorbent materials. The light absorbent materials of these multilayered black insulating films 117, i.e., the light shielding films have the light absorption spectrum distributions varying from each other. The writing side glass substrate of the LCVL1 is formed of a substrate 21a consisting a fiber optical plate and the front face of a CRT 2 is formed of a substrate 2a consisting a fiber optical plate. The fiber optical plates of the LCVL 1 and the CRT 2 are joined to each other via joining layers 30. The width of selection of the light wavelengths to be shut off by superposition of the light absorption spectra is expanded by combinations of the thin films 17a to 17c of the light absorbent materials. |
