PURPOSE:To evade the complexity of a monitoring screen to monitor the status of a video as far as possible and to display a video information fetch area on a monitor only at need by displaying a prescribed area only when the position of the prescribed area is required to confirm and prohibiting the display of the area when no confirmation for the position of the prescribed area is required. CONSTITUTION:In a line of sight AF mode. a frame generation circuit 27 is controlled based on a line of sight position outputted from a line of sight detection circuit 6, and a focal point detecting area is set at a remarked point position, and also, the focal point detecting area is displayed by closing a switch 28. In a center emphasis AF mode, a mode is switched to an AF center emphasis AF mode by controlling the frame generation circuit 27, and also, the display of the focal point detecting area is prohibited by opening the switch 28. The line of sight AF mode and the center emphasis AF mode can be switched by a line of sight on/off switch 31, and a fetch area can be displayed only in the line of sight AF mode. |
