PURPOSE:To provide a lock mechanism for webbing winding device which not only prevents production of abnormal noise by a lock plate but also facilitates selection of material and design for maintaining specified detecting performance. CONSTITUTION:Lock plates 46, 48, which are moved by rotation delay of a lock ring relative to a winding shaft 18 as to prevent rotation of the winding shaft 18, are retained by a flange part 38 of an adapter 24 and constituted so as not to abut on both end faces in the axial direction of a recessed part 40 of a shaft 20 and a fork part 42. Accordingly, production of metallic abnormal noise by the lock plates 46, 48 due to vehicle vibration is prevented. Also, since sliding frictional resistance is not produced at the time of rotation delay of the lock ring, adverse influence is not exerted on detecting performance of a lock mechanism. |
