PURPOSE:To obtain a herbicidal composition, enhanced in herbicidal activity of a fatty acid and having sufficient herbicidal activity and high safety to human body. CONSTITUTION:This herbicidal composition contains a fatty acid and a phosphate as active ingredients. A 4-18C saturated or unsaturated fatty acid can be used as the fatty acid and a 8-13C fatty acid, especially pelargonic acid is preferably used. Potassium pyrophosphate or sodium pyrophosphate is preferably used as the phosphate and sodium phosphate, potassium phosphate, magnesium phosphate, calcium phosphate or potassium dihydrogenphosphate can be also used. The composition is prepared into an emulsion or wettable powder, diluted with water, sprayed on weeds and used. The concentration of the fatty acid in the diluted solution is preferably 0.5-1.5% and that of pyrophosphate is preferably 0.25-2%. The content of the fatty acid in a herbicide can be reduced and a problem of an oil smell in spray and a problem of cost can be solved. |
