Composting device comprises: (A) a device for mechanical processing waste for composting, and (B) receptacle in which degradation of the waste takes place in a closed system. - (B) comprises: (1) a shredding grate in the form of a standing cylinder with an open end and a base that also acts as a shredding grate; (2) a vessel contg. the grate; (3) a gap formed between the vessel wall and the peripheral wall of the grate; (4) a region beneath the grate; (5) a stirring and shredding tool operating from within the grate; (6) a cleaning tool operating within the gap; (7) a drive tool for the cleaning tool; and (8) a hood surrounding at least part of (A), provided with a tightly sealable hatch for introducing waste and similar hatches for creating an underpressure within the region or for supplying gas stream material. |
