An ignition coil device for an internal combustion engine has the following parts: a tubular high-voltage terminal (high-tension terminal) which is electrically connected to a secondary output terminal of an ignition coil, has a side surface section and one of whose ends is open; a first part which is held in the tubular section of the high-voltage terminal and is fastened in the side surface section; a helical electrically conductive spring part which is held in the tubular section of the high-voltage terminal and one of whose end sections is wound a plurality of times around the first part, such that it touches it; a second part which is held in the tubular section of the high-voltage terminal and is provided with a shank section around which another end section of the electrically conductive spring part is wound a plurality of times such that it makes touching contact and is provided with a contact section which is electrically connected to a conductor of an ignition cable, such that it makes contact with it; and a hold-back section for holding the conductor back in a state in which the conductor compresses the electrically conductive spring part.
