<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a high-brightness and high-contrast display by providing insulating films between substrates which have transparent electrodes and high- molecular dispersion type liquid crystal. CONSTITUTION:The high-molecular dispersion type liquid crystal display element, constituted by sandwiching the high-molecular dispersion type liquid crystal obtained by dispersing and holding a liquid crystal constituent with positive dielectric anisotropy in a high-molecular matrix 5 having a refractive index close or equal to the ordinary light refractive index of the liquid crystal constituent between the substrates 1 and 1 have the two transparent electrodes 2, is provided with the insulating films 3 between the substrates 1 having the transparent electrodes 2 and the high-molecular dispersion type liquid crystal. The insulating film 3 increase the specific resistance of the high-molecular dispersion type liquid crystal display elements and increase the holding rate of a voltage to reduce a drop in effective voltage, and also enable low-voltage driving even when the high-molecular dispersion type liquid crystal display element is used is combination with TFTs.</p> |
