In order to provide a coating for airborne vehicles, in particular for the leading edge of the horizontal tail surfaces of aircraft, consisting of an adhesive layer composed of Ni/Al, an intermediate layer and a covering layer which contains Al2O3, and of a sealer which withstands heating and erosion stresses, the intermediate layer consists of Al2O3 and the covering layer is a layer composed of a metal ceramic, consisting of a powder mixture composed of Ni/Al and Al2O3.
