Aminocoumarin derivative of formula (I), wherein R1 is an optionally substituted alkyl, cycloalkyl or aryl group, one of R2 to R5 is an amino group of formula NH¿2, NHR?7, NH-COOR?7, N(R8)COOR7, NHR9 ou NR7R9¿, and the others R2 to R5 as well as R6 are hydrogen atoms or other substituents. The aminocoumarin derivatives of the invention are useful as an enzyme substrate, or for the synthesis of enzyme substrates, adapted to the detection of enzymes on solid supports in contact with an aqueous medium in a heterogeneous medium.
