PURPOSE:To quickly expand an air bag and effectively mitigate a shock applied on a crew by forming through holes on an air bag, and covering the through holes with sheet-like elastic members having exhaust holes to exhaust gas in the air bag. CONSTITUTION:For example, four through holes 5 are formed on the back face side 2 of an air bag 1, sheet-like elastic members 6 of rubber or the like are provided on the through holes 5, and fixed by sewing, adhesive, or the like so as to cover the through holes 5. The respective elastic members 6 are formed with a proper number of exhaust holes 7 to exhaust gas in the air bag 1. In the early stage of beginning of expansion, the size of the exhaust holes 7 are small and an outflow gas quantity is small, and hence the air bag l is quickly expanded so as to complete expansion in a short time. When the inner pressure reaches the maximum value, the elastic members 6 deform largely, the size of the exhaust holes 7 largely spread, the inner gas is effectively exhausted through the exhaust holes 7, and hence a shock to a crew is surely mitigated. |
