PURPOSE:To keep a high image grade and to miniaturize a recording apparatus as a whole by providing a space part to the upper part of the gap between a first discharge means for feeding a member to be recorded and the second discharge means on the downstream side of the first discharge means and utilizing the space part to replace a recording means. CONSTITUTION:A space part E is formed above the rear guide 17 provided between first and second discharge roller pairs 15, 19. By opening the space part E by rotating a cover 22 toward the deep part of an apparatus (R-direction) centering around a hinge 22a to open the space part E, the space part above a guide 18 and the rear guide 17 is also opened. When an ink jet cartridge 10 is replaced, the space part E is opened and the ink jet cartridge 10 is released by a lever to be drawn out to the space part E and raised upwardly to be taken out. When the space part E is opened, the guide 8 and the rear guide 17 are opened and, therefore, even when the jamming of recording paper is generated by the guides 8, 17, paper jamming processing can be performed by opening the cover 22. |
