The water absorption preventing apparatus includes a rectifier for rectifying input alternating power and outputting the rectified direct current voltage, a water signal inputting portion for converting the amount of water detected by a water detector into a signal, a microcomputer for outputting a current supply termination signal and motor stop signal to control a motor when the water detecting signal is input from the water signal inputting portion, a relay for applying the rectified direct current to the field of the motor, and a motor speed controller for stopping current supplied to the motor when the current supply termination signal is input from the microcomputer, thereby preventing a user from electric shock in advance.
