Folded air-bag for car-passenger protection

The bag (10) is inflated by a pressure source (160), being accommodated in the folded state in a housing (130). In this state, first folded edges (62,66,64,68,102,106,110) run parallel to the housing door (140), which is thrust clear on inflation, and form first folded portions (80,82,116) at right angles to the door, against which their fold edges act. Second folds (42) form second portions (52,54,56) at right angles to the first ones. The first folded portions can form a vertical stack.
