BATTERY CHARGER

PURPOSE:To provide a battery charger capable of preventing the temperature rise of a battery at the time of a charge and realizing the long life of the battery. CONSTITUTION:A switch 21 detecting a battery pack 14 fitted in a recess 13 is arranged on the inner wall 28 of the recess 13 of a battery charger 11. The DC current from a rectifying circuit 15 is fed to a motor 22 via the switch 21. A cooling fan 23 is connected to the motor 22. The air flow by the cooling fan 23 collides with one end of a heat pipe 24 provided in a housing 12. The other end of the heat pipe 24 is exposed in the recess 13 and extended upward in the recess 13. The battery pack 14 in the recess 13 is cooled by the heat pipe 24.
