摘要 PURPOSE: To improve reliability by providing a transmission sub-system which uses one of QAM modes and selectively encodes source data and a receiving sub-system that detects the QAM mode. CONSTITUTION: Source data is inputted to a Reed-Solomon encoder 14 through a scrambler 12. The encoder uses a QAM (trellis coding rectangular phase amplitude modulation) mode information to correctly form its block. Its output is interleaved by an interleaver 20 through an trellis encoder 18, and after it has undergone D/A rectangular phase modulation through a sending filter and is processed by an up converter circuit 24, and data is outputted. Once a block is formed in the encoder 14, a receiver operates to encode data that has information which is used by the same type of decoder and is scrambled to correct a communication error.
