PURPOSE:To make it possible for a lead terminal of an electronic component to be opened and bent without fail in a state in which it is inserted completely into a fitting hole of a printed circuit board. CONSTITUTION:In a clinching mechanism 10 of a lead terminal of an electronic component comprising a head unit 11 which brings the electronic component 17 toward a prescribed position of a printed circuit board 23 on which the electronic component is to be mounted, above this printed circuit board, lowers this electronic component and inserts a lead terminal 14a thereof into a fitting hole 23a provided in the printed circuit board, and a clinch unit 21 which supports this printed circuit board from below the board and has a slant surface 22b so formed on the upper end face 22a as to be opposed to the fitting hole of the printed circuit board, the clinch unit 21 is equipped with a backup pin 25 which projects upward from the upper end face and is actuated upward by a spring 24 so that the fore end thereof may come into contact with the lower side of the printed circuit board. |
