Regenerated fibre-contg. thermosetting resin, useful in fireproof material

Fibre/resin regenerate (I), consisting of crushed residues of fibre sheet impregnated and/or coated with thermosetting resin in an intermediate morphological stage (II) and opt. inorganic fillers. Fibres in (I) are below 10 (pref. 0.5-5) mm. long, and (I) contains 10-50 (pref. 20-40)wt.% (II), pretreatment of residues involves (a) drying without curing the resin, (b) cooling below the glass transition pt. of (II) and/or (c) adding inorganic fillers, pref. inorganic fillers are added during milling. Also claimed is a process for the prodn. of (I), by possibly precrushing the residues, pretreating to improve the milling properties and then milling to fibre length below 10 mm.
