摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a self-starting synchronous motor which enables reduction in current consumption and power consumption by enhancing the running torque of its rotor and thus its energy efficiency. SOLUTION: Like other motors, the motor 100 comprises a stator 2 formed by attaching magnetic yokes A1 to A4 having magnetic poles a1 to a4 at equal intervals and substantially E-shaped cross sections to the inner circumferential surface of a non-magnetic cylindrical body 4 at angular intervals of 90 deg., and a rotor 3 formed by attaching a cylindrical magnetic material 14 having magnetic poles b1 to b17 whose teeth are at equal intervals to the outer circumferential surface of a rotating shaft 13. The motor is also provided with a function of supplying four-phase alternating-current exciting currents I1 to I4 out of phase by 90 deg. to the exciting winding 6 of the magnetic yokes A1 to A4 as conventional. In addition, a base 15 for magnetic material attraction which is supplied with the currents I1 to I4 and is thereby excited to attract close one of the magnetic poles b1 to b17 of the cylindrical magnetic material 14 is placed between the magnetic poles a1 and a2 and between the magnetic poles a3 and a4 of each of the magnetic yokes A1 to A4.
