PURPOSE:To obtain a picture of high print quality even on a recording medium which absorbs ink slowly, by a method in which recording in an area, except a boundary area, of a unit picture-area is carried out by means of recording scan and recording in the boudary area is completed by means of recording scan subsequent to that. CONSTITUTION:In a first recording scan (a), only a picture-element row with one picture-element width, which is uppermost in the direction of recording, is left, and remaining three nozzles complete the recording of their corresponding images. In the subsequent second recording scan (b), recording in the uppermost picture-row, where recording was not carried out in the first recording scan (a), is carried out in the position which is the same as in the case of the first recording scan (a), so that a first picture-area is completed. In the first picture- area in this state, ink drawing forces are acting. In the subsequent third recording scan (c), a sheet is fed the distance corresponding to the head width, and then printing is carried out in a second picture-area by means of the lower three nozzles only again. |
