PURPOSE:To make the reader small in size and light in weight by decreasing a length of a picture read unit reading a picture of an original in a direction perpendicularly to an original read face, to make a lens array whose focus depth is deep available and to reduce deterioration in a read picture against unevenness of the original. CONSTITUTION:The picture read unit is so configured that a lens array 7 on which plural refractive index distribution type lenses are arranged in line is arranged almost in parallel with an original read face 11, a mirror 6 is used to bend an optical path from the original read face 11 thereby leading a light to the lens array 7 and its output is inputted to photoelectric conversion elements arranged in a line. |
