PURPOSE: To measure a height from the bottom of a storage tank, etc., to a liquid level with accuracy. CONSTITUTION: Two separated channels 11 and 12 are provided with a probe 10, and the time required for a sound signal to travel between fixed points in a liquid of a channel 12 and the time for a sound signal to travel from the transducer 21 of the channel 11 to the liquid surface are measured. The measurement results of time are transformed to the amount of the liquid by using a speed-temperature value preset for correcting temperature changes in the tank. |
