<p>PURPOSE: To make a disk sensing device possible to discriminate whether it is a CD or an LD with a simple mechanism and to automatically read data by providing a CD recognition switch and a tilt sensor. CONSTITUTION: When a disk presence and absence sensor 14 recognizes the mounting on a clamper 10, a pickup 18 is moved to a CD recognition switch 16 position which is inside the disk. Then, when a microprocessor 60 detects a focus lock, it is recognized that the disk is a CD group disk and a data is reading. If there exists no focus lock, the pickup 18 is moved to an outer periphery. If it is discriminated to be an LD group disk by an LD discrimination section 40 using the disk tilt discrimination output from a tilt sensor 20, the data region of the disk is discriminated, a focusing is performed and LD data are read. Thus, a disk is sensed and automatically read using a simple and low cost mechanism.</p> |
