<p>PURPOSE:To adequately control emitted light quantity of a flash even through a main object is in a position where is deviated from a dimming control area by providing a control means controlling the emitted light quantity of the flash in accordance with a set mode discriminated by a discriminating means. CONSTITUTION:This controller defines a still object which is wanted to be photographed by a photographer, decides whether it is a mode in which automatic focusing operation is locked(AF lock) or not (S1); and when it is not the AF lock mode, the light emission of the flash is controlled (S6) based on output obtained by a photoelectric conversion element for monitoring on an object area(selected area) selected by the controller. As to the decision of the AF lock mode, the photographer operates an operating member and detects a focal point plural times, and the AF lock mode is used by defining an object as the still object when the focusing position is inside a specified range by a detected result, and the automatic focusing operation is continued by defining it as a moving body when the focusing position is outside the range.</p> |
