摘要 A process and device are disclosed for measuring and determining the fluorescence feedback of algae in order to determine the density and vitality of the algae by means of exciting light, the fluorescent radiation of the tested plants or biomass being detected. The object of the invention is to develop a process and device that allow the algae density, i.e. the light attenuation in a sample, and the vitality of the plants, to be determined in a short time, by simple means and in a relatively precise manner. At the same time, measurement of the delayed fluorescence and separate fluorescence measurement arrangements are to be totally dispensed with. For this purpose, a process of the above-mentioned type has the following steps: the algae are exposed to two differently timed light signals, one measurement light timed at a quick rhythm and a second x-Hz-light timed at a relatively slow rhythm; the detected signal is correlated with the timing signal of the measurement light, giving an intermediate signal; and the intermediate signal is correlated with the timing signal of the x-Hz-light, giving a calibratable result signal.
