PURPOSE:To provide a focusing device which can surely catch a moving subject which has been followed before exposure after the exposure and drive a photographing lens. CONSTITUTION:A predicted defocusing amount calculating means 106 calculates a predicted defocusing amount for a moving subject which has been followed before exposure at a first focus detection point after the exposure, and a following driving amount calculating means 103 calculates a following driving amount to make a photographing lens follow the moving subject without delay based on the defocusing amount which is the closest to the predicted defocusing amount among a plurality of defocusing amounts detected in a plurality of focusing detection zones at the same point of time and an image surface moving speed of the moving subject detected before the exposure for driving the photographing lens to surely catch the identical subject both before and after the exposure. |
