PURPOSE:To provide a laser beam machining method and its apparatus, in which energy of the laser beam irradiating the surface of a material, to be machined of a work roll, etc., used to finish conditioning rolling, etc., can easily be changed and the surface shape formed with this beam energy by this method can be changed and the structure thereof is simple. CONSTITUTION:By shifting each of three pieces of half mirrors 1a, 1b, 1c arranged on the beam passage of the laser beam G between a laser beam oscillator 14 and an irradiating head 15 to the directions progressed to out of the beam passage or returned back by shifting devices 2a, 2b, 2c to change the laser beam G quantity branched to the out of the beam passage through these half mirrors 1a, 1b, 1c, the energy of the laser beam G irradiating the surface of the work roll A from the irradiating head 15 is changed. |
