Turnspit for cooking operated by a weight 7 attached to the end of a cord 6 driving a mechanism causing a spit 8 drive to rotate, its speed being kept constant by a regulator. A crank 4 is used to wind it up. The transmission mechanism uses roller chains as pinions Z2, Z4 and toothed wheels designed for meshing with roller chains Z1, Z3. The drive assembly of the regulator is an epicyclic train in which the sun wheels [crown wheels] Z5, Z7 are formed by roller chains and the planet wheels Z6, Z8 by toothed wheels designed for meshing with roller chains. The drive assembly of the regulator drives the regulator 13, of which the mass and position of its flyweights 14 determine the speed of rotation of the turnspit. <IMAGE>
