PURPOSE:To provide the optical recording medium having the high durability to repeat rewriting, that is, recording and erasing of the optical recording medium of a rewriting type. CONSTITUTION:Protective layers to be laminated above and below an optical recording material layer are composed of ZNxSySiuOw and the ratios thereof are so controlled as to attain w/u>2, y/x<1. The increase in the noise level of such optical recording medium is suppressed even if recording and erasing are repeated >=10<6> times. |
