摘要 In a composite material comprising a silicate material, (esp. glass) and one or more organic polymers, the novelty is that adhesion between the components is improved by an adhesion promoter based on organophosphonic acids and/or organo-phosphonates. The adhesion promoter is pref. an organo-monophosphonic acid (R-PO3H2) or a substd. amino-bis-phosphonic acid, used in a neutral or alkaline aq. medium. Pref. the adhesion promoter is used in amount 0.01-5 (pref. 0.1-1) wt. % in the polymer coating mixt. USE/ADVANTAGE - The composite material esp. comprises polymer-coated glass fibres for reinforcing cement-bonded building materials. The adhesion promoter is chemically stable esp. in combination with aq. polymer dispersions or solns. in neutral and alkaline media.
