The device for grouping bales (1) of fodder at the exit from a press (2) for making cylindrical bales, includes a chassis comprising two substantially horizontal parallel arms (5, 6) equipped at one of their ends with a wheel (7, 8) and articulated via their other end to the axle (3) of the press (2), each arm including, above the axle of the corresponding wheel (7, 8), a member (9, 10) carrying a vertical pin (11, 12) situated substantially vertically above the hub of the wheel (7, 8) for the articulation of the upper end of a vertical arm (13, 14) equipped at its lower end, in cantilever fashion, with a horizontal basket (15, 16) for receiving a bale (1) coming out of the press (2).
