PURPOSE: To save power for a battery-driven radio equipment or the like and to prevent a delay in the case of phase locking in a reactive way. CONSTITUTION: A synthesizer 30 enters a standby mode, when a standby section of a control register 47 is set to inhibit a detector 33 and counters 42, 43, 44. The recovery from the standby mode is conducted in two stages. A 1st stage is started by receiving an end standby signal. Thus, entry of data is attained and the counters 42, 43, 44 are started. Upon the receipt of a signal, denoting the end of cycle from a feedback counter 43, a 2nd stage is conducted. Thus, preset data are loaded to a reference counter 44. Then the counters 42, 43, 44 are synchronized, a detector 33 is initialized, and an output of the detector 33 is set enabled. |
