PURPOSE:To obtain the optical fiber holding structure which gives the connection stable against temperature change and external force by containing and holding an optical fiber strand in an elastic material holding member having a curved through- hole. CONSTITUTION:A fiber strand 1 is secured to a terminal member 4 by adhesive material 3. An elastic optical fiber holding member 10 which has a curbed through- hole 11 and a space capable of containing a core wire 2 in the inside is secured to the terminal mamber 4 by means of an adhesive agent 12, the fiber strand 1 being passed through the inside of the through-hole 11. A tension-resistance member 5 is held secured to the holding member 10 by a clamping member 7. As against a temperature change in this state, the protrusion of the fiber strand owing to the shrinkage of the core convering may be absorbed by the deflection that the strand 1 can take within the curved through-hole 11. When tensile force is applied upon the fiber cord 8, the holding member 10 elongates and is able to adsorb the tensile force. In this way, the connection stable against temperature change and external force may be accomplished. |
