A process is disclosed for sealing a joint between two sections, in particular between two concrete sections. A hose-like, unstable body made of a non self-supporting material is mounted in the area of the joint, at the surface of the joint, then the hose-like body is filled with a supporting medium and is closed. The second concrete section is then finished and the supporting medium is removed from the hose-like body, that collapses due to its instability, creating an injection path for a sealing medium. A sealing medium is then injected into the injection path thus obtained and penetrates into faults in the joint area, for example crevice-like faults in the concrete sections, sealing the joint area. An element for sealing such a joint comprises a hose-like, unstable body that forms an injection path for a sealing medium, with closable free ends, capable of being mounted on the surface of the joint and with a cavity filled with at least one supporting medium.
