The invention relates to an apparatus for bending a glass sheet supported on a ring mould. The apparatus comprises a press-bending station provided with thermally insulated walls, a press-bending tool (6) above a glass sheet supported on a ring mould in the press-bending station, as well as a mechanism for lifting and lowering said press-bending tool (6). Said mechanism includes a claw crane (7), the top end (8) of one of its articulated arms being adapted for horizontal movements effected by a power unit (10), which is located outside the station and from which power is transmitted to claw crane (7) by means of a driving rod or shaft (9) driven through the wall. Said press tool (6) is fastened to a frame (11) carried by the bottom end of claw crane (7) also for horizontal movements. The operations of vertical and horizontal movements can be effected through a thermally insulated wall by means of driving shafts, whose through hole is permanently located. |
