The system has a heat exchanger (5) and a draft diverter (3) with sheet metal baffles (11). One temp. sensor (14) is positioned between the insert (11) and the flue gas leaving the heat exchanger. The second sensor (17) is arranged at an outlet (12) where the exhaust gas leaves in the direction of the installation space. The signals from the temp. responsive semi-conductors (14,17) are relayed to an evaluator (16), to control the burner regulation, according to the specified constructional characteristics of the appliance being monitored, a temp. difference acts as a criterion, which is varied according to parameters concerning the appliance loading and its working temp. The sensors are connected respectively to matching stages, whereby an inverter is included in one branch and the two outputs are fed to a summator, which is connected to a comparator also fed with a reference voltage, and the burner regulation is adjusted accordingly.
