<p>b -Halosulphones are prepared by reacting a sulphonyl halide with an olefinic compound containing at least one carbon-carbon double bond which is not conjugated with non-aromatic unsaturation in the presence of at least one iron compound as catalyst, not more than 2% by weight of water being present in the reaction mixture. The preferred catalyst is ferrous chloride.</p> |
