<p>The present invention provides a rotation controlling apparatus for controlling the rotation generated in a rotation drive source (11) and transmitting the rotation to an output portion (2,3), comprising a first rotation transmitting member (9,10) which is connected to the rotation drive source (11) and to which the rotation is transmitted from the rotation drive source (17); a second rotation transmitting member (4) for transmitting the rotation from the rotation drive source (11) to the output portion (2,3) when it is engaged by the first rotation transmitting member (9,10); a support means (8) adapted to support one of the first (9,10) and second (4) rotation transmitting members and movable to cause it to be engaged by or disengaged from the other rotation transmitting member; a trigger means (6,12) for shifting the support means to engage one of the rotation transmitting members by the other; and a rotation transmission controlling means (5) operated by a rotational force from the second rotation transmitting means (4) to shift the support means (8), thereby disengaging the first rotation transmitting member (9,10) from the second rotation transmitting member (4).
