In the arrangement shown strain gauges 26 are mounted on flat surfaces 25 of a pin 16 passing through bores 12, 13 of actuating arms 9, 14 attached to blade shaft 8. The strain gauges are electrically connected to a transducer in the form of a Wheatstone bridge, a relay and a solenoid valve such that should movement of blades 6 be resisted by an obstruction the solenoid valve is activated to move the governor pilot servovalve to the neutral position to stop further adjustment of the blades. In modifications the transducer may be in the form of an indicator light or an audible alarm.</p> |
