<p>PURPOSE:To shorten the time required for the FF and REW operations as much as possible by feeding a tape at such a high speed that causes no break of the tape at a position near the tape end based on the reel diameter. CONSTITUTION:A tape is rewound by an FF or REW operation and at the same time the tape speed reaches the highest level Vt (stationary shift speed Vt) attainable with a relevant VTR. This speed Vt is kept until a point RD near the tape end. In this case, the speed Vt is equal to the highest level that is limited by the strength of the VTR mechanism, the largest rotational frequency of a motor, etc. Then the tape speed is reduced down to such a highest speed Ve (tape end speed Ve) that causes no break of the tape when the tape is completely taken up. As a result, the time required for the FF and REW operations of the tape can be shortened as a whole.</p> |
