It comprises, on a fixed frame, a station for loading the garments to be treated, a control console with the regulation members, a station for marking the garments, a station for automatic positioning in order upon delivery of the garments to a station for treating by means of steam, an ironing station, a drying chamber and a zone for discharge of the treated garments. The socks are mounted on last-type supports provided with lateral chamfers which ensure closure of the steam applicator plates without losses of fluid, forming flattening devices for retention of the garments and drawing (stretching) devices for same in order to establish the required sizes. Applicable to the process of automatic treatment of socks after their manufacture or dyeing. <IMAGE>
