PURPOSE:To efficiently manufacture a thin long-size fiber rein-forced metallic sheet with excellent tensile strength and modulus of elasticity by constrainedly rolling a base material which consists of fiber reinforced metallic material at a specified contraint ratio and rolling by specifying the temp. of finish rolling. CONSTITUTION:The fiber reinforced metallic sheet which consists of Al or Mg which is reinforced with ceramic whiskers is manufactured. In this case, the base material which consists of the fiber reinforced metallic material which is manufactured by a conventional method is rolled in the range of 350-550 deg.C of finish rolling temp. by constrained rolling that constrain ratio is >=20%. In this way, it can be efficiently rolled into the thin long-size sheet without generating cracks. |
