An automatic take-up device (50) for automatically rolling and taking up a continuous sheet of paper (12) on which transaction results are printed. The automatic take-up device (50) comprises a take-up spool (54) having a first flange member (104), a second flange member (106), and a take-up shaft (114) for coupling the first and second flange (104;106) members together. The automatic take-up device also includes a housing (52) having a first wall (52-1) and a second wall (52-2), each having a slot (53-1;53-2) therein to enable the take-up spool (54) to be detachably mounted in the housing (52). A guide module (56) is coupled to the housing (52) and guides the continuous sheet of paper (12) around the take-up spool (54) as the continuous sheet of paper (12) is guided to, and is caused to be wrapped around the take-up spool (54).
