PURPOSE:To increase fatigue strength, to stabilize quality, and to reduce costs by inserting a press jig into an oil hole in the spline bottom of a shaft, applying plastic deformation to the edge part of the oil hole, and establishing residual compressive stress in the surface. CONSTITUTION:A press jig 19 is inserted into an oil hole 16 in a spline gear tooth 14 of a shaft 11 where the spline gear tooth 14 is formed. Subsequently, load F is applied to the above jig 19 to apply plastic deformation to the edge part 18 of the above oil hole 16, by which residual compressive stress ls formed in the surface. |
