Method for cutting a corner part off from a continuous layer, and jig for carrying out this method

When laying carpets in wet-rooms, a perimeter edge has to be folded back and part of the carpet corner has to be cut away, and it is therefore important for this cutting to be done as accurately as possible. This accuracy is achieved using a jig 8 which has the shape of an isosceles right-angled triangle, where its hypotenuse runs along a carpet edge 20 from the corner.
