PURPOSE:To accurately measure an actual sample, in an anion selective electrode containing a quaternary ammonium salt or quaternary phosphonium salt in its support film composed of a polymer material as an anion responsive substance and equipped with a responsive film containing aliphatic alcohol as a plasticizer, by containing at least one kind of a compound represented by a specific formula as a responsive substance. CONSTITUTION:At least one kind of a compound represented by formula (wherein R1 is a normal or isoalkyl group with the number of carbon atoms n1=1 - 9 and R2, R3 and R4 are normal or isoalkyl groups respectively having the number of carbon atoms n2, n3, n4 of n2=17 - 24, n3=17 - 24, n4=77 - 24) is contained in the ion responsive film 4 of an electrode as a responsive substance and the composition of said compound is optimized. That is, when a quaternary ammonium salt wherein R2, R3 and R4 in the formula are an alkyl group with the number of carbon atoms n2=17 or more is used, three alkyl groups present around a nitrogen atom are extremely bulky and, therefore, it is considered that the salt is hard to receive the attack to the nitrogen atom by a bulky anion. Therefore, the selectively to a hydrophylic hydrogen phosphate ion or hydrogen carbonate ion and an oleophilic perchloric acid ion is high. |
