In a dental apparatus with a number of instrument units (1 to 3), each comprising an instrument hose (4 to 6) with an associated connecting piece with which a number of different dental instruments may be selectively connected, each instrument hose (4 to 6) comprises supply ducts (11, 12) for water and air, for use as coolant spray and chip air. For each instrument hose (4 to 6) the water and air supply ducts (11, 12) are connected with a common water duct (17) and a common air duct (18) through proportionally adjustable magnet valve members (20, 21) that are preferably common to all of the instrument units (1 to 3) and receive electric setting signals from a control circuit (14) which from the instruments receives identification codes for the instrument connected with a given selected instrument hose. To generate suitable energizing signals to said common valve members (20, 21) the control circuit (14) includes a memory (23) containing the operational parameters for the individual instruments. |
