PURPOSE:To shrink or elongate an arbitrary part of a ceramic structure to an arbitrary degree by coating or printing the surface of the structure with a substance for accelerating or inhibiting the growth of ceramic grains and by sintering the structure. CONSTITUTION:The surface of a structure of ceramics consisting of Al2O3, SrTiO3, ZrO2, MgO, SiC, Si3N4, sialon, etc., is coated or printed with a substance for accelerating the growth of ceramic grains and/or a substance for inhibiting the growth of ceramic grins and the structure is sintered to obtain a ceramic structure shrunk and/or elongated to a desired shape. MgO or ZnO2 may be used as the growth accelerating substance and CaO, SiO2 or TiO2 as the growth inhibiting substance. By this method, a composite ceramic structure such as a hemispherical body can simply be produced. |
