The object of the present invention is to facilitate the production of master tapes in studios for producing audio and/or video information carriers thereform, by reducing the time and increasing the quality of producing the master tapes. The blank tapes are made first by making a tape web (21) including a support layer and a sensitive layer, winding the tape web (21) on a winding roller (22), unwinding the tape web (21) and cutting it into large diameter tape coils (26) by a cutter (25) and then separating each tape coil (26) by a cutter (27) into individual tapes (27) which are inserted in cassettes. The tape (1, 6, 12) is coded with codes (4, 5, 10, 11, 14, 15) directly during the process of its making, either during the winding on the winding roller (22), or during its unwinding and before cutting by the cutter (25), or before separating by the cutter (27). |
